What I Can See

I've spent thirteen years inside premium brands and I can tell you the same thing happens to almost all of them. You scale past the first few stores, hit $20M, $30M, $50M, and somewhere along the way you realize the operating infrastructure underneath the business never got built to match the growth. So you're basically running a $30M company on the systems you set up when you were doing $3M. You think you're hiding it well, but trust me, your people can tell.
Right about now, some consultant would normally insert a clever line about how nobody plans for this. And yeah, that works for selling you services you don't really need, but I've been on the inside of this exact moment too many times to dance around it.
